The LightwaveRF Smart Socket L42 (Generation 2) is an amazing piece of Smart Home Tech Kit.  Easliy control your power sockets, set timers and check usage with the LightwaveRF App.  This is a must have for any Smart Home.

 

This model is the NEW Generation 2 version, which includes Efficiency Reporting and Apple Home Kit compatibility. 

 

There are older Generation 1  versions out there for cheaper, but for a few extra pounds, this version is worth its weight in gold (well, stainless steel).

Product Description

The Lightwave smart socket lets you power your home appliances remotely via your smart device.  Not only that, you can set timers and have total control over your sockets without the need for one of those clunky clock timer switches. 

 

With this new version, you can also monitor power usage, and set child locks on your socket.  Coming in a range on finishes including white and chrome, the LightwaveRF Smart Socket looks great in any house, old and new. 

 

You do need a LightwaveRF Hub to use the LightwaveRF Smart socket so do not forget to add this to your budget. 

 

Some home electric knowledge is required as you will need to remove your old dumb socket, however as long as your competent in knowing your Live, Natural and Earth, this is a breeze to install.  

 

With standard sizing (2 way) this socket will fit into any standard UK home.  One piece of advice we would share is to make sure you have enough space behind your socket box before installing as the mountings and electronics of the LightwaveRF Smart Socket is deeper than a normal dump socket. Quick booBeam tip – If mounting on plasterboard, you can buy a deeper 2 Gang Wall bracket.

How Easy is it to install?

Some homeowner electrical knowledge is required as you need to switch off your electrics and replace your current light switch.  Easy to follow instructions are included, however, if you are in doubt, you should consult a qualified electrician.  Once installed, setup is a breeze with help from the LightwaveRF App.
